THRASS Information Night with Rhonda Campbell – register today! @ Bellfield Speech Pathology
Nov 8 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

THRASS Information Night at Bellfield Speech Pathology

Date: Wednesday, 8 November starting at 7.30pm

  • THRASS (Teaching Handwriting Reading and Spelling Skills) Information Night
  • The THRASS information night will cover the Importance of Spelling and Literacy delivered by Rhonda Campbell, a Speech Pathologist of 27 years
  • Spelling and literacy are the cornerstones of education. If a learner cannot successfully spell words, then they are less likely to succeed at formal learning. Skills and strategies for learning how to spell words are a very important part of the spelling process.  Even if a learner can spell a word, if they do not understand the process they cannot apply this knowledge to spell unfamiliar words.
  • THRASS is designed to assist with the ‘word level’ component of literacy.
  • Parents, grandparents, teachers and other interested parties are welcome to attend this FREE session.

Imagine being able to confidently assist your child with spelling and reading, rather than wondering if you are doing the “right thing”.  This information session will deliver an overview of THRASS leading up and prior to the Intensive School Holiday Program.

Specific topics will include:

  • a brief history of THRASS
  • an introduction to the charts
  • differentiating phonemes and graphemes
  • practical tasks to begin using the charts confidentially.

This 1.5-hour session will be conducted by Rhonda Campbell who is an advanced THRASS Certificate holder and has been working with this program for more than 15 years. She has run school based and individual based training sessions and is an experienced presenter. You can expect an enjoyable evening that will leave you feeling enthusiastic about spelling!

To register and to find out more information telephone Bellfield Speech Pathology today on 03 5622 1055.
